Car won't pass smog!!!!
Not sure what the canister is but I had to get a new gas cap a couple years ago to pass an inspection.
Also, I just replaced the breather hose which runs between the fuel neck and the gas tank because it was leaking. But in that case I didn't need an inspection because I could see the gas on the ground after filling up my tank and smell the fumes whether the tank was full or not.

2 ideas. either torn vac hoses under the hood, or a torn overflow tube up above the rear subframe where the tank filler neck is (torn overflow hose will leak upon using the automatic fillup at the gas station). there's 1 short vac hose out of the canister (which is DIRECTLY below the battery/relaybox btw) to a metal pipe, which leads to another rubber line back by the firewall, then there's those 2 other hoses (one medium diameter, one small diameter) leading to the intake manifold somewhere... dunno where they go to on a VE. and then there's a big fat one at the bottom that goes into the frame (i know, right?). also make sure that the bottom of the canister (or any part of it) isn't cracked or anything.
would gas vapors be running through the line connected to the egr valve because that hose was lose and cracking. when it failed smog because of vapors he said its one of the lines running from the canister or the canister itself and the line runs from the canister to the intake manifold then to the egr cylinoid then to the egr valve i know its confusing

No vapors should be running in any vacuum line. there are separate lines for the fuel vapors.
you may have failed because the line at the EGR wasn't working so it couldn't do it's job.

Check your canister which is under the battery and check that all the lines are installed as per your FSM or vacuum diagram, and check them for conditionand operation, there maybe a checkvalve in that system as well refer to the FSM. Was your filters and oil changed b4 doing that emissions test? Are you burning oil? Fuel cap working properly?
