key problems
hey guys, i just had a new nissan factory key cut from and older working copy of it. the new key doesn't work but look identical when compared. whats going on? and stupid me lost the receipt from the place that cut the key...grrr....

Maybe if the old key is all rounded off and worn, the locks have gotten used to this? Maybe try taking it back and get them to round the edges off a bit more with that wire wheel you see on the cutting machine. It probably beats trying to replace it.

As a key gets older, it gets worn down and tends to work less reliably. A copy of the worn key may not work at all (as you found out). This problem occurs a lot with Max's.
There is usually a key code in the glove compartment that the dealer can cut a new key from. They usually work OK.
