door lock on the driver side

door lock on the driver side
Can anyone shed light on what going on with the driver side door lock pin, whenever you put your key in to unlock and the pin will push up then drop back down locking it so I would have to pull the handle quickly before the pin lock back down. It seem like the door lock actuator has a mind of it's own, could that be the issue or has anyone experience this problem due to the age of the car?

door lock actuator is a common problem, solders let go inside of it. you can open the actuator up and manually check the solders, otherwise possibly the door panel is misaligned and the pin is hitting something so it makes the pin go back down

I've seen that on more than one occasion. Could be the door lock timer aswell under the steering column. You can hear it clicking when you lock and unlock the doors. Sometimes removing it and soldering any bad points on the board can help. If I remember correctly mine only did what yours is doing when double turning the key to unlock all the doors. Try turning the key twice and see if all your doors unlock and stay or go back down? Or it could just aswell be a bad actuator.
