Ve30de oil filter

I know this topic has been covered a bunch and is a sticky but I just wanted to confirm that the Toyota filter is still the best option for this motor? There isn't really any current feedback on this and the Toyota filter is now made in Thailand. What are peoples opinions and experiences that are still running this motor? I just bought a 94 maxima se with only 70k. It has zero vtc issues, just trying to stay ahead of things. Thanks for the input.

First of all - got any pics of this 70k VE? Is it a manual? That's what I'm most interested in lol.

I have to say, as somebody who's had VE's now for 20 years - I have run all types of filters (though NEVER any OEM filters) over the years and never had particularly any strong feelings or experiences as far as engine performance/VTC's either way between different ones. Your car is already 25 years old. You'd have to be running these filters for 20 more years to get much tangible long term health difference out of them beyond just running a good oil and changing it on time. A VE that does not have VTC issues at this point is going to need A LOT of neglect/abuse/bad luck to develop VTC issues simply from an oil filter choice.

If you can get a good deal on the Toyota filter, sure, go for it. Personally, I have a big ol stack of Purolator Pure One's, the gold colored ones with the grippy case. I don't even know if they still make those.

Awesome thank you for the quick response. I think I'm definitely over thinking the whole thing, I just want to keep taking the best care of it as I can. I've noticed almost all the aftermarket filters that cross have the anti drain back feature anyway, so idk if things changed back or what's going on, but I'll stick to quality oil and frequent intervals as usual. And here's some pics, I'll take a few of the interior or whatever, but it really is clean. It's an automatic, but couldn't pass it up, not for the condition or the mileage. True one family

little old lady car.

I tried to sell her here on the org and no one wanted to buy. I was working at avis rent a car and got promoted to supervisor. That gave me a comp rental perk. I moved her during Street cleaning for a while. Even with my final offer I got low balled. Eventually I was going away on vacation and no one to look after her. I eventually junked her with all the mods as I had no place to take all the upgrades off. Sadly 500 bucks and title signed to the junker. I wish I never did that. I kick myself every time

Just located a really nice VE 5 spd in the Boneyard...I'll be taking as much as possible maybe to swap over to a 5 spd since my 90 is a A/T car....as far as Oil filter just go WIX and you'll be ok.
