i smelled fuel also when i would crank it. that was why we thought injectors or fuel line were the culprit. it's not fun prying the injectors out of the fuel rail. . . . .

I was woundering where you bought the o-ring for 17cents. If you didnt get the right material the o-ring will fail.

I had that on my 93 SE. Although I never fixed the problem from the feedback and advice I got, i was told to look at the fuel lines.

Wow dude, its not just an o-ring. I has to be able to withstand the gasoline (as a solvent) other wise it will dissolve it and fall apart. This is your upper o-ring? right, thats why you were able to smell gas under the hood? well, you should stick your nose under the hood more often just to make sure it has not started leaking.

Did the packed say it was meant for fuel injection? I kinda doubt it, at least not in any regular autoparts store. You would have had to go to a fuel injection - carburator store, other wise you did not get the right ones.

To say that they are all rubber means that you have no idea. There are over a dozen differnt o-rings out there and they all have particular uses.

Did you buy the o-ring from nissan? and it was the part # for the injector?. I highly doubt ANY regular parts store will carry them (I've checked numerous times). yeah it might last a couple thousand miles, but when the upper seal starts leaking and your in the middle of going 100mph and flames start shooting out of your hood, you'll be saying to your self damn that nissan tech is a F!cking idiot and I should have listened to eric .

dude, autozone and advanced both carry O ring sets for the VE. Just FYI. . . .

dude, the O ring is the same. it's rubber, you rub oil on it. i'll talk to you in 20k miles. i'll be fine. bye bye

Dude, you can't just put any old piece of rubber aka...What you bought at Home Depot... and expect it to work. Gasoline will desolve non-treated rubber like coca-cola on a rusty nail. I was formerly a Nissan Tech, so I know, Dude.
