ZEX nitrous

say that i add a 75 shot ZEX nitrous kit to my 1990 SE max. what could i expect it to take of my 1/4 mile time if i had lets say, UDP, y pipe, ECU, CAI, full exhuast and stuff like that what would you expect my 1/4 mile to be roughly, im asking becaseu we all know that im not intelligent very much on cars, so im asking the experts on the org.

Well if you have an upgraded ecu u will need to get it upgraded for the nos. I have the zex system also but havent put it in due to I need a serious tune up, hasnt been done since 1997 (236,456 miles). I dont recommend anyone else doing this but my car is really hanging in there! But to take a guess maybe the high 14's. Take it to the track and let us know, also if you do a search on our site, several people have ran nos at the track and u will see a trend in times based on modds and nos! Good luck!

Re: ZEX nitrous

What does the car run now? What if your first time out you run a 17.4 @ 83mph without nitrous and then a 16.1 @ 90mph with nitrous? This means that your driving could be alot better. Also without baseline runs there is no way to compare. Also you should run nitrous express or N.O.S. system instead. The NX generation-X kit comes wiht basically all you need.

Also I figure a well driven bolt on VG 5spd in good tune should run a 15.8-16.3 @ 84-86mph at a sea level track. With a 50hp boost with n2o it should run 14.8-15.4s @ 89-93mph. If it is an auto add about 0.5 tenths to those times. You should have the n2o dyno tuned too.

Nismo...are you sure you would suggest running a "wet setup" on a VG(since NX only makes wet), I think our intake setup wouldn't flow the fuel properly...wouldn't it puddle up in the TB elbow and on its way to the rear of the upper pleneum

I'll be installing an NX kit on my boys 2k2 civic next week and the 3rd gen VG intake setup doesn't look like it would work too well with wet system.

no...wet kit sprays nitrous and fuel into the intake pleneum(or runner(s)), dry kit ONLY sprays nitrous into the pleneum, trust me I just installed two NX kits last week.....

yeah thats what I mean....fuel tee taps the OEM fuel line, then goes through the fuel solenoid...blah, blah, I guess we just worded it differently!

Your are correct it will not work properly if you dont know what youre doing on a VG, it will need a lot of tinkering with before it will work properly! The dry system is better and far more stable. Zex
is the best kit on the market for the money, all you have to do is flip a toggle switch and when you get on the gas hard the cpu will spray and cut it off when it gets to lean, not only that you can also put in a 10lbs cheater bottle for a second stage just in case!

Yea a wet direct port nitrous install . However that would be my 2nd alternative, the 1st would be to run a JWT n2o program. It's tried tested and proven to make a 50hp gain at the wheels with the 50 shot program. I believe they have a 65hp and 100hp programs too, the 100hp requires Q45 or Z32TT injectors. The only thing with dry kits is that you should upgrade the fuel pump. Also I haven't seen anyone have a puddling effect in the IM yet. I figure that if ZR1/4.6 cobra's can spray we can too. The LT5's have a more complex IM than ours and they don't seem to have the puddling problem.
