Anyone know how to check if the spark plug coil is bad??
I got the CEL code 0201, Ignition circuit signal. I tested the voltage of all the connecters that are next to the spark plug coils they are fine,
What I want to do next is check the actual spark plug coils,( the long plastic thing that goes in over the the plug itself)
How do I do this? do I have to check for voltage? Any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Does anyoen know what specific terminals to test resistance accross of? maybe someone could post the haynes manual instructions?

that would have been your first test..
if it doesn't change.. then i would say something is ither wrong with the plug in that location or the wiring is messed up..

did you swap coil packs and then reset the ecu to see if the code changes to another cylinder?

didn't try that, didn't even think of it either becuase the CEL only report 02 01, no other codes. Should I just randonmy swap coil packs aroujnd to see if other codes get reported??

I tried reseting the CEL a few times before and the same exact thing happens. On the next startup it the CEL doesn't come on, the startup following that, the CEL will stay off until I hit about 2k rpms. The car sometimes feels like the right side driveshaft is slipping or loose, sort of like a hesitation at low speed. sometimes the car shakes like hell like it's about to die, in reverse especially. but again no other codes besides 02 01. Thanks for your input.
