First thing is that he crawls off the line and then takes off. Any true drag racer knows that to get a 12.2@108mph would take a 1.5-1.6 60'. I'd venture to say the 60' in this video is in the 2.1-2.2 range. There's a huge difference between a 1.5 and 2.1 60', it's along the lines of ~1.2 seconds at the end of the 1/4 mile. If Don pulled a 2.1 60' and a 12.2, his trap speed would be more like 115-117mph.

Second thing I notice is that it takes his car ~12.8 seconds from the point it starts rolling to the point it appears to reach the timing boards. Most tracks are setup with the board being the finish line. IMO, this looks like a high 12/low 13 second pass.

Third thing is track timing computers do get confused sometimes. I've got a timeslip showing that I ran a 13.21@97mph with a 2.30 60' in my Maxima. I've also got timeslip for my old Z28 showing 11.7@108mph with a 2.0 60' (my car ran 13s consistently).

Dave
I don't believe that was his 12 second run either.

That why a lot of people call his 12.2 BS because he claims he ran 12.21 @ 108.80 with a 2.02 60'. You can't run a 2.02 60' with a very low trap speed like 108 it should be as you point out in the 115 range minimum. This time would be impossible unless you have an 11 sec car and stand on the brakes at the end.

I've never said that was THE 12 sec run, but A 12 sec run. I think that was a 12.87 run. These were run in Feb/Mar of 2002. They didn't mysteriously appear while I was trying to sell me car, they've been out there for about 10 months. I didn't set out to video anything, rarely do I bring a film crew with me.

Any "true drag racer" hasn't narrowed his vision on 300hp 4 door sedans.. Two weekends ago I saw an Outlaw Class Mustang run a 8.23 @ 160+, and his 60' was a 2.5....so if you pull a 2.5 60' is your car slow? I have run PLENTY of F-body cars that pull a 1.5 60' but I catch them on the other end. I also ran an AWD Subaru in March for the 2nd place win at RCR...He pulled a 1.5 to my 2.0 60', but his 13.14 lost to my 12.80.....how did that happen? HP baby, HP. Are you telling me you've never seen a car run faster that a 12 that didn't pull a sub 1.9 60' time? You should watch more races. You don't win races on the 60' ft's, you win them at the end of the track. Any "True Drag Racer" knows this. If you've only got a chance on the 60', then you need more HP

Just thought I would give you guys something else to talk about this coming week , maybe get this thread to 13 or 14 pages....

Thanks for the drag racing lesson Don but we happen to be talking about FWD cars here not AWD or RWD there is a big difference.

Regardless your 12.21 @ 108 with a 2 sec 60' is BS and you know it.

I know you didn't take a film crew or anyone that could even focus on the board for that matter, but you should have took someone to hold on to your timeslip. At least you would have had something.

Anyway get back to what you do best, try and sell some more VB mods then keep the money.

Are you saying that 60' for a RWD is timed differently? You are so full of ****. hehe. 60' is 60'...RWB, AWD, FWD....right? Please tell me I'm wrong.

Should I assume that an F-body (RWD) that runs a 1.5 60' and hits the lights at a 13.5 is a faster car than a FWD that runs a 2.1 60' and hits the lights at a 12.88? Which car is quicker?

Eminem said it best "Life would be empty without me"... its so sad that you have such hatred for me, but can't stop talking about me.... I hope you're not a stalker too

you win, I've never run my car, its never been out of the garage, I've never run a race, never been to a race. I've not modified it in any way shape or form. You're 13.14 is the quickest anyone has ever seen in street racing. Even my 9.90 sec bike is slow in comparison. you ****** rule!

now get me a drink! I'm done with this subject, it bores the **** out of me...it has bored me for 3 years now. I could give a **** who beleives and who doesn't. BFD

YOU ARE WRONG!!

They are all timed the same but they don't compare. There is a big difference in 60' vs time vs speed with cars with FWD, RWD and AWD anyone who has watched all 3 certainly have seen the difference. However I can understand you not comprehending that or you wouldn't have posted that bogus 12.21 @ 108 pure BS run. You obviously weren't thinking too straight the day you dreamed that up, must have been too many drinks.

Also this post is not about me or my car, I never even mentioned it. But at least anyone who has read this thread now knows that anyone will will rip off fellow ORG members isn't above posting BS 1/4 mile times.

Have a nice day.

Go and rip off some more ORG members. You are obviously good at that.

Oy ... fer crying out loud.

Jime ... I don't know who appointed you president of the Don Hater's Club, but it's getting old. You have a problem with his times or his business? Put a link in your sig to the threads in the Dealership Forum.

It's not hidden and the truth doesn't need to be "revealed". The threads are there for everyone to see. You don't need to be the crusader for the "Don is a liar and a thief" campaign. It's getting annoying when there is a thread about Don, and you have to jump up and down waving your arms around shouting, "Don is a thief! Don is a thief! Don is a thief!"

You're an adult, act like it. Your constant arguing hasn't gotten people's money back nor has it made Don suddenly break down and say, "Yes! It's true, I never ran a 12.2!"

I don't even know why you started this crusade in the first place, but it's getting old and I'm warning you to stop. Not because I'm trying to "supress the truth" or that I'm a "Don groupie" ... but because it's getting extremely annoying when any thread about Don pops up, you have to turn it into a 25 page flame war between you and everyone else.

Let it go, move on, forget about it. You can shout and argue till you're blue in the face, ain't nothing gonna change.
