key problem

I'm new to the Max community, having just bought a 99 white GXE. I was wondering, are there any cheaper alternatives for getting new keys? I had to pay 40 bucks for the key and 38 bucks on top of that to code it.

Well, I guess that gives me a convenient excuse not to give the wife a key, because she is always bothering me about driving my Max (she drives an Intrigue).. Thanks.

Whoa, I'm thinking of the many multitudes of ways a crook could use this to his/her advantage if a dealership actually did this ...

Good point. At least when you get your keys coded together at the dealership, it renders any other keys harmless.
