Modifying my ECU

I was told to mess with my Ecu to get my car to stop cutting out when i reach 118mph. Basically a governor. I was wondering does anybody know what i need to do to my ECU?

I did this using a switch. Once you cut the wire, solder extension wires to each of the cut ends and then run them to a toggle switch.
I put mine here: (red switch next to fuse box panel)

This way, you don't get a CEL, and you can just deactivate the speed governer when you need to. BTW the CEL does not come on right away - it will come on after about 15 minutes of driving with the circuit broken.

actually it's funny you should say that, because since I did this mod, the only times I have gone over 118mph is when I was testing the switch and the mod to make sure it worked!!

I haven't used it since

They were definitly trying to make themself sound good. top speed without any mods even for a 5 spd 4th gen SE is about 140 give or take a few.

I believe I am correct in saying that. If they had some damn good mods.. then they possible could get to 180. NOS or S/C. I dont even know if bolt ons will allow them to go that fast. Also.. ask them what kind of suspension and tires they got.. lol

Wrong response.

And the 4th gen is gear limited to 158mph with the stock rev limiter.

how can you say the thread is of no use when you are to lazy to look through it? its like saying a book sucks because it has a bad storyline but you never even read the damn thing...i mean wtf?
