need some help with intake.

need some help with intake.

a buddy of mines have a 96 maxima, an i had just an old pop charger in the 92 max, well anyhow i took it off an gave it to him, but while installing, there is a little wire on the side of the air box, what is that wire for, an can i just leave it out?

which wire? sensor wire? on the actual intake air box (with the filter etc)? thats important

Its probably air intake sensor...need that unless you want cel

it's a air temperature sensor. YOu can just zip tie it somewhere and stick it in the drop in filter. Do not damage it!

i am having this prob as well. it is a plug. Do we have to remove the part inside the stock airbox as well. Cause the outside plugs into somehting.

yea that light it ****ins me off. I checked the code and it is 0401 so it is the intake air sensor. why does everything have a but.....this intake is easy to install but.......

i was wondering if i could cut the top of the intake an just put the sensor there would it work?

yea some people do that but there's really no need for all that trouble. Look at my homepage. I have a pic of my engine bay and you can see where I put my sensor. Click the page that sais "engine"
