What stuff do you have running off of the cig lighter? I suggest hard wiring some of that stuff, instead of just plugging more and more in. Neons should be hardwired, 100%. Radar detectors are a lot nicer hardwired, and there are instructions for it in the how to thread. I need more detail about what you are running

Get the power directly from the battery. Use a relay and use the cig. lighter as a signal source or anything that's switched at a signal source.

Has anyone used those splitters for the outlet? You plug it into the one outlet and have two outlets...are they worth it? I need to have one for my phone charger and iPod..

I had one of those in another vehicle once. It worked fine, but isn't pretty.

I'd rather install a power outlet or two somewhere on/in the console so it would look nice, and be more permanent.

i have the same problem. I bought a StreetGlow OPTX 4 Outlet thing I'm using now until I hardwire everything. Not bad for $10. For now, I only have radar and Sharper Image Air thing plugged in.

I ground it in the frame near the map lights and I tapped off one of the wires near the map lights. It is always on and it does not affect map lights, I really wanted to tap into the sunroof switch but I could not find a place. the wire I did choose does "self check" when I start the car. What I mean it goes through all the lights and beeps. I will check tomorrow to see where I tapped. The only wires are visible from the map lights area and straight under the sun visor and to the radar detector.

Pat

BTW I moved from Lawrenceville GA earlier this year, I lived off Bramblet Shoals, close to Grayson.

those air things are great.

only downside to the 4 plug outlet is the tape they give you with it is horrible and keeps falling off on me.

How much are those things and where do you get them at? My max has a kinda funk in there that I cant get out with anything. I have tried coffee grounds, febreeze, and all carpet cleaners and there is still that o' de funk. I think it is because the guy who owned my baby before I did smoked cigars in there.
