just since it got cold, whenever i start the car up, the power steering pump is really pretty loud. when you try to turn the wheel, it is sometimes very hard and a little shaky. you can also here the belts squeeling a little. once it warms up, it seems to be ok. is this just because the fluid needs to warm up or could it be a bad pump? it does not do the same thing in my 3rd gen. anyone else having similar issue?

 

The belt is either worn or the tension needs tightened.

 

Is your fluid full? You said squeaky belt too..maybe it is loose..or you could just need a new one.

 

Tighten hte hose clamps to the power steering container and if low, fill up with ATF
