Need an opinion on headlight bulbs

I'm in the market for some brighter headlights but don't want to get HIDs. I was perusing Custommaxima.com and found these and was wondering if anyone had any comments on them. Is $75 a good price for these or what? Or should I be looking for different bulbs altogether?

I just bought the exact same bulbs (PIAA Xtreme White Plus 9004) from eBay for $55 shipped, so don't buy them for $75 at CM.

From what I've heard they are quite a bit better than Sylvania's comparable bulbs. There's a lot of contention about whether PIAAs are worth the price, but most people agree they are better than the competition, just not about how much better.

Would the 9004ST Sylvania Silverstars do the trick?

I have the Silverstars and they look much better than stock. They're also a bit brighter but not as bright as HIDs obviously. People claim they're not good in the rain which is true but its not that big of a deal. Keep in mind if you're going to get headlight bulbs you'll also probably want to get the parking light bulbs(1157) which are the ones right next to the headlights. I got the polarg 1157 hyper-whites but I haven't installed them yet so I can't tell you how they look. I originally just got the silverstars but it doesn't look good because the silverstars are white and the parking bulbs still have an amber tint.

" The new Xtreme White Plus blubs at 4000k are much brighter than PIAA's Super White Bulbs."

you should get bulbs with 7000k color temp with that wattage....

stay away form cheap ebay bulbs. you get what yo pay for mostly. I went thorugh 1000 differnt bulbs until i got hid's. Piaa's were awsom but the very best i ever had were form a company called "light glow" they are $12. They were by far better than the piaa's i had. weird!

Piaa is the best in quality, durability and longevity. Sylvania is just lagging behind Piaa in light color. I'd go with Piaa, I have used probably every bulb out there, and still like PIAA best. I;ve had the same set of PIAA Plus White in different cars for about 5 years now, and they are just as bright as the day I got them. I use Extreme White Plus 9007's in my 97 Maxima's modified glass focused headlight housings. They are nice and crisp and white, not like cheapo blue bulbs, Anything over 4000 deg. K is crap in rain, even some HID's. If you want visibility, nothing is better than Phillips Hi-Visibility bulbs.

Old sig sux, way too blue, much different in real life. This is PIAA all around.

I just through in some silverstars, i havent compared them to PIAA's but they the car plenty of justice compared to stock, especially on 95-96 headlights. dont get headlight bulbs without 1157's though, it looks bunk!

Where did you get them from?
Could I get them from somewhere here in town?

How much are the Phillips Hi-Visibility? How long do they last in comparison to Sylvania Silverstars or PIAA?

I used to be a believer in the Silverstars because they were cheaper than all the others and they were still really bright. Well, I had them in my car for not quite a year, and one of the lights went out already. I am not too happy with that at all. I am wanting to try something else out, but I don't want to pay like $30/per bulb.
