Sprint/AGX are too harsh... would Intrax/AGX be better?

Im looking to get rid of the Sprints and try out a softer spring but i dont wanna sacrafice my drop. A while back my boy had Intrax/AGX and he told me it was a very smooth ride, not to mention it did look pretty low still. I know Intrax are know to sag in the rear after a while, but i planned on cutting the fronts down a coil to even the drop out anyways.
Another 2 problems i have now are a blown AGX on the passanger side and a bad axel on the same side So figured if im gonna take apart the passanger side and go back for an alignment i might as well just swap out all the springs and do it all in one shot and save myself the extra alignment.

I need opinions on what to do as far as springs...

Intrax w/agx's were my 2nd choice, but decided to go w/Progress and agx's. They have a comfortable ride and a nice drop. my homepage has a pic of the small gap. (page 12-13 i think)

I had Intrax springs in my 96. I thought the drop was large but I recently found out some interesting. I now have Eibachs but wanted to see something. I put the Intrax in the front of my Max. The drop didnt change. Both the front Eibachs and Intrax have the same drop. The rears are way different though. Intrax are much lower in the rear. But the ride of Intrax springs is so close to stock its not even funny.

Ditch the AGX's for some illuminas, especially if one is blown. I just got the sprint/illumina combo put on saturday and it totally kills my old progress/agx combo in terms of ride comfort.

The AGX's are causing your harsh ride. Get a better strut. Illuminas are the best riding strut you can buy for our cars right now.

Yeah and they would be covered by a warrenty unlike the AGX.

I thought my Intrax springs road pretty harshly over most surfaces compared to the amazing smoothness of my H&Rs. The Intrax rear springs are very short which means you're on the bumpstops pretty quickly. My H&Rs give the same drop in the front as the Intrax, but the rears sit higher with the H&Rs. The Intrax definitely give a "junk in the trunk" look. If you want a good drop and excellent performing spring, you've only got two options in my book. You've got the H&Rs or Eibachs. You get what you pay for.

Illuminas matched with H&R's is the way to go. I know it's not a super low drop but the ride is lovely compared to the AGX/H&R setup.

Tom is correct though, get rid of the AGX's.

I would hit the bump stop on my Koni/Sprint all the time. There is just not enough suspension travel. I want JIC magic with the adjustable strut body. That's the only way to go low and still ride smooth.

I have Sprints/Illuminas and the ride is kickass. It's stiffer, but basically rides stock, I love it.

thanks for all the feedback guys... I understand that the Illuminas are the way to go, but i dont have an extra $400 to drop again on struts. I guess when i pull apart the passanger front this weekend ill know right then and there if my strut is really the problem or if the upper rubber isolator is whats causeing the noises.

Progress springs do look low enough for my taste, so i may just consider a set of those instead. But well see!

My sprints and AGX are giving me probs after 2 yrs of being isntalled. I rather not deal with the probs, I'm thinking of going with the Tein basic coilover set up. I want my car to be low..

What kinda problems? I've been thinking of changing to coilovers just bc I want the car lower than it is now but for now Sprint/AGX will have to do.

I think I have the one that sounds like its loose...everytime I hit a speedbump or crack in teh road...cant really describe the sound either. yea next meet...

For what its worth, I love my Progress springs. The ride quality is very comparable to H&Rs, but the drop is a little better. I'd highly recommend going with them. If they still don't drop it enough you could always cut a coil...

I like my ride. I have the KYB AGX/Intrax with the AGX set on 1 on each corner. Ride is nice. Drop is nice.

I had Intrax with my OEM struts. They are about the same as Koni/Sprint. They are great if the road are nice and smooth.

+1 on the low rear Intrax. Like I said b4 the front is not 1.7 or 1.75 like stated, but the rear is low low low. I hit bumpstops in the rear often. Every drop spring that Ive seen is too low in the rear other than Eibachs and Sprints, maybe Progress. If I wanted a low drop it would be with coilovers. I wonder how the Arospeed springs are, I have a dealer in town....
