i have a 97 se 5spd and i wanted to do some engine work. i was thinking of replacing my stock cams and pistons and try to install the 1996 300zx twin turbo cams and pistons. i also wanted to port and polish the heads. will this work or is it impossible, and how much horses will i gain if i was to do this.

300ZX parts swap... The two engines are different and there is essentially zero parts interchangeability. For example, the 300ZX bore is 3.43 inches and the Maxima bore is 3.66 inches.

Port & polish... this is a waste of time and energy unless you are an out-and-out racer. To get any real benefit you also have to rework the intake and exhaust manifold.

Those components are designed to work with the 300zx turbo engine ONLY.

You will not see any gains unless you install the whole setup.
