B&M install almost there help.

boy, this isnt easy if your car has some rusty bolts..... i had to take the whole assembly out of the car including the two connecting rods on the tranny.

Im putting my B&M together right now, i have the large retaining ring on.... but im a little confused on where the small retaining ring goes... It looks like in the picture that is sits on top of the pivot ball... is that what i do, just put it right on top the brass pivot ball... or am i supposed to put tension on it and if i do what am i connecting the tension to?

thanks

IIRC the smaller retaining ring actually goes on the shifter stick in the groove..

It's to hold the stick into the pivot, so put the stick up into the car then go into the car and slide that ring down until it goes into the groove.

You need to be aware that it will be pretty stiff for a few weeks, so don't get dissappointed when it seems like a pain to shift...It gets much better.
