Urgent: Programmed Key Problems
I purchased a new key for the Maxima this morning at the dealer. They reprogrammed both the old and new keys and I saw them both start and run the car. Drove home.
My wife went to start the car later and it would only start and stall (bad key indication ?). So, we tried the other key. It stated and ran worked fine. Stopped the engine, tried the first key again. Now it worked fine.
I a little nervous about having 'the little woman' out and about with these keys. Is this a "normal" condidtion ? Is there some procedure here to follow ? Dealer says "It can happen... if it happens again, come back and we'll reprogram them". Not a comforting thought. Neither key sat near any magnetic devices between the time it was programmed and the time it stopped working.
thanks,
Bob
