When I run the auto hard, my rpms drop back to about 4000 rpms. Without the ECU, I just have to wait for the engine to make it's way up to 5000 rpms to take advantage of the VI. It just plain sucks without the ECU. With the ECU, the added midrange definitely helps me get moving from 4000 on up.

From talking to jwt years ago, it changes shift points of the auto. What exactly that means, I have no idea.

Maybe you should call them

Unless you're planning on boosting in the near future don't bother with any of those 3. Just get the ECU.

Anyway, back on topic, congrats Deezo. Hope they come out with the 5-speed version by the time my b-day comes around.

I don't have an auto, so I'll leave that up to deezo.

However, 5th gens might need this *IF* the TS ECU ever comes out.

I might be going with the Level 10 unit because I like its capabilities.

Baggy is right about the JWT. I've heard some guys say that they didn't like it.

Thanks Nismo.

there are so many probs with the level ten units. i would go with the nrh or the max tuning instead.

Well, I need to do more research then. I didn't know Max Tuning had something like this.

Do we need to get a list of specific part # or build date ECUs for this or have they finally cracked ALL of the '95-'96 ECUs?

they can only extend the rev limiter if you ask them to do it and if you have an auto ecu

Brian told me that they are trying to figure out why my ECU works (7100 Rev Limit) and others don't. I would say a specific build dated ECU should work for everyone that has one. I'll have to look at my ECU to see the actual date on it and list it here. It is a 96 ECU though.

Nah, I don't have any tranny upgrades yet but I imagine I'll have to look into an upgrade sooner or later.

Yeah brian is saying the same thing to me. I asked for the extended rev when they first thought they had it and i never got it. I think this was around november. They said that they were only able to get some ecus to work and not others. I have an ecu from a 95, thinking about sending it in to get the same program you did but they aren't sure if it will work.

Hello,
Someone please tell me if this is wrong ? I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of Jet Performance. So I called them up like couple days ago. I talked to one of there people and apparantely they are saying for $299.00 thats with shipping you can get

Advanced timing
Better fuel map
Getting rid of the governer
and rasing up your rev limiter . . . didn't exactly said how much more . .

thats the information I got when I called turn around is about 2-3 days max. If anyone knows about this or dealt with them please help ! ! !

So I guess what they say is basically BS. Well I appreciate it to be honest with you, so would you know any other place to upgrade an ECU that can actually get it done on 1998 Maxima 5spd. I know this talk is going for Techno Square 95-96 Ecu's and etc.
Thanx .

No one modifies 97-99 ECU's. Your best bet is to get a 1996 ECU and send it to JWT if you want a plug and play solution. If you want to go all out and don't mind tuning, getting a Emanage Ultimate will beat any plug and play ECU on the market. The problem with a plug and play ECU is that it is a generic tune, and every car is different. One program cannot be everything to every car. With an EU, you can adjust anything you want, anytime you want, and customize it all to your car.

^^ Agreed, like, alot.

If you're on a budget though get an afc, fpr, and some dyno time, bump fuel pressure, pull maf voltage = timing advance.

God, this is disgusting, such a beautiful thread has been disgraced.

"hey guys where do i go to buy a ecu for my 1995 se maxima a guy sold me a car that come to find out had been under salt water"

Damn, that's ****ed up. I think you might also need a new car. You should toss that thing back in the ocean, it's probably worse off than the last couple 5-speeds I bought for parts cars.

Apologize for being the PIA , but no I'd rather go all out and get EU OR EUB as long as it gets the job done, which I'm pretty sure it will. Just gotta get it dyno tuned i guess huh .
Thanks !
