Replacing Tires and doing Front Alignment

Hi guys... it's been a while!

So I'm finally going to have to part with my Dunlop SP5000's after about 45K miles. I'm getting Kumho ASX's put on tomorrow. I'm also going to have to get an alignment done (2-wheel, of course) since I have some extra positive camber.

2 questions:

1. Since I have 73K miles now and have never replaced any parts of the suspension, is now a good time (though it doesn't feel too bad yet) since I'm getting the alignment done anyway?

2. Anyone know any good places to go for alignment/general maintenance for the Maxima (4th Gen SE - 98) in the Bay Area?... I live in Palo Alto.

Thanks for the input!,

Amit

1. I don't think you should judge the suspension by the mileage. Park the car, go to the front, push the car down, and let go. It shouldn't take more than one bounce for it to back to normal. That's what my mechanic taught me.

2. Try Wheel Works. IIRC, they have 1 year warranty on their aligment, versus 6 months from most shops. Check the Mercury news for coupon which you can save $10 (I think). I went to the one at Milpitas before and they were pretty good.

Don't know. Never had an alignment yet. Even after changing my shocks and struts.
