New Pads. Now Brakes are making awful noise

I just put new pads on. And rear calipers. Now My brakes are making an awful squeeling when i am driving down the road. It is harmonic to my cars speed (stops when my car is stoped). I put new pads on about a half a month ago. And rear calipers. The noise is just irritating. I used disc brake quiet on the backs of the pads. What could it be? Should i try replacing all of the hardware?

Normally the squeak stops with the car ...

What type of pads are you using?

it could be semi metallic/ceramic pads. my mechanic used those on my car and i get squealing noises and all sorts of sounds. it brakes fine, but a litle bit of grinding noises due to the metallic pieces off the pad rubbing in between. if you dont want that sound, then switch to full ceramic. but other than that your brakes should wear normally if not better. i have a grip of pad left and ive been running them for a while.

Yeah im using pro-stop ceramic....something that concerned me about the front brakes...was that there are two metal spreaders and the prostops only had a hole for the spreader on the outter pads...and i had to drill a hole on the inner pads so that this spreader could be used....should i take the spreader off? maybe that is making the noise? or should i get new hardware kits and try that

There were two metal clips that were shaped like Y's ...they were attached to little holes in the metal backing of the pad...the purpose was that it seemed to spread the pad away from the rotor. Do i not need these? could this be my problem?

Ok Update....I just took the max for a spin...and it is quiet until i use my brakes a few times..and then the squeeling gets louder and louder. Could this be a sticky front caliper?? And i do wonder why my 95 has anti rattle springs on it.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I changed my pads last week to Duralast Gold and they only had the small hole in one pad. I thought the pads were defective and was about to send them backbut then I just left the spreader out. But I have a problem now, the BRAKE light on my dash is lit and I dont know what the problem is. Any helpful solutions, please post.

brake light is usually due to low brake fluid. Are they fine with no spreader? are they quiet?

Is there a way you guys can do a sound clip of your brakes. Mine are making funny braking sounds also. I did pads (axis metalmasters) rotors (ebay brembro crossdrilled/ slotted) and two new rear calipers. sounds like an chattering and a rubbing sound.

did you turn the rotors, if the rotors are glazed over you will definetely get squeaks.

arent u supposed to break your brakes in? i read that with new pads you should take it to a freeway in rush hour and slam on them a few times. nothing too crazy though
