not sure if this was brought up yet, but does anyone here know if 99's that have done the auto-5spd conversion should work correctly? I get some wierd stuff while trying to start like a solid security light, o/d light blinks about 15 times or so, and a few other interesting things and no crank action.

EDIT: i think im an idiot... didnt have the BCM plugged in or a few other "crucial" harnesses car seems to fire right up with it lol

I was meaning to ask how you like the ECU. You say no crank action? So you can't get the car to start? The solid security light is normal. Mine also did that and i had the check engine light. For EGR and EVAP stuff. I am cali emissions so i am not sure you would get those check engine lights. How do you like the 7200rpm ?

Oh i edited the post, I didnt have a bunch of harnesses plugged in when i tried, the car is up in the air right now finishing up the clutch. Fires right up when I crank it I'll know about the 7200rpm when the 00vi goes in

I still would like an answer for my question, if you got the 115 mph limit will replacing the 99 computer with a 96 modified computer take that limiter out? or is the limiter in a transmission controller or else where in the system.

why dont you do alittle research.. i take it you have a gxe.. all you need to do is put in a se ecu and that will take care of it.

No they can not. 99's TCM's are different from 96's there are also some tranny functions built into an auto ECU. Basically since you have they have to reprogram a 1996 ecu to run a 1999 it can not be done.

I would assume so since there is no longer a automatic tranny there for you will not need the ECU to communicate with it. zazon would be the better person to ask since i sold him my JWT ECU. My jwt ecu was a 1996 Fed spec 5speed ecu jwt reprogramed for a 1999 cali spec 5 speed car. Word perfect asside for some codes related to Evap and egr.

They can not remap and modify 99 ECU's you need to send them a 1996 5speed ecu
