Hmmm......that's weird, that link that I posted is the actual cyrstal clear bumpers I'm going to purchase and the seller specifically said that the fronts are 1156. I wish I can take the lenses to the store however, none of the stores around here carry these clear/silver bulbs that light up amber. I'm getting all the bulbs needed for my red/clear tails and clear bumpers. I wanted to have the bumper lenses light up amber at night and clear in the day. I'm getting the bulbs from an internet source but somehow, they don't seem to carry clear/silver 194 bulbs that light up in amber. Do you know of a source where these can be found?

Or you could just spray them yourself with some testors silver/gray spraypaint.

I found them thanks. Dang, I'm buying about $30 worth of bulbs. I wanted to switch out of the PolarG bulbs in my lamp lenses and go with silver/chrome instead. Tired of looking at the blue tint behind my clear corners and I wouldn't want to see it in my new clear bumper and clear tail lenses. The only thing that is not getting replaced are the 1157 bulbs behind the red lenses portion of the tails. I'm even getting a silver/chrome super white bulb for the reverse lenses.

ARRRRGH! Careful how you read my friend! The guy earlier asked about the LITTLE BULBS - the little ones are 194. These are the ones on the SIDE of the clear bumper lights. The front of the bumper lights use a larger bulb. Those use the 1156 b/c it is a turn signal, just like the rear turn signal which uses 1156!

Good luck man! Don't buy the wrong bulbs! Also, the Superlumination.com link has both 1156 and 194 silvered bulbs. All of them are $3 each. The website is annoying to navigate though. I hope they are a trusted site. I didn't order yet, so I can't recommend or not recommmend them...

Has anyone else received theirs and had a problem with the installation?

Just curious.

Agreed. I also had to shave down the plastic screw-holder. But it was more than a couple of mm. It was more like 5 mm in my case. Hopefully the new models will fit perfect on the first try. Mine look flush now, but after last nights rain-storm I can see that some water seeped in through the two outside tails (the ones in need of filing). I will have to buy some weather-stripping tape and see if that helps.

The rubber stripping around the tails is not very thick, so if it's not a really tight fit all the way around, it won't be water tight. So again, hopefully the new ones will be perfect first time around.

Yeah, no video since my boy didn't show up. I had to shave 3-5m off. Now my trunk passenger side light, I have to redo that and get the weather stripping to seat better. I will take pics tomorrow. Overall hotness.

They have to order a minimum of 2,000 pieces, so it seems unlikely that they would make this exact type for the 97-99's since they already sell red/clears for those model years!!! I agree that the shiny look of the new ones are nice and give the car an "updated" more modern look. But the other ones are nice, too. Just more understated. Pics from their website:

95/96 [These will be completely clear-looking if you use silvered bulbs in the turn signals - about $6 for a pair]:

On my 1995:
Outer tails plastic screw support (inner-upper): 4mm removed.
Inner tails: 1mm removed from all 4 plastic screw supports.

I wish the weatherstripping on the inner tails extended a mm or two more deeper.

Overall, I give props to CE. Nicely done.

So based on various comments regarding the rubber stripping that's on the new red/clear tails, I think a tube of black silicone sealant would be a good for peace of mind.

That or some sort of weatherstripping. It is pretty flimsy. I had to stretch mine out because it was way to thick and kept the light from indexing the whole way. Nothing that can't be worked out.

leave the amber there, it makes you original, not just another set of red clears

I've been waiting for these for 5 years! Everyone else can be original. I'll take the clear!
