very true, except theres a variation, if you hit it in 2nd you go to the stargate.

I've never hit the rev limiter, even when racing someone. I have pretty much develope the reflex to shift on time before banging it. But I'm still adding a shiftlight especially when I decide to boost her.

With the inaccuracy of the stock tach you pretty much have to be trying to hit the limiter while driving. This thread is back from teh dead zOMG.

stock rev limit is 6750(around there) unless you raise the limiter.

No it is not that high. IIRC it is 6400-6500max. Most logging shows 6400

Did it once on purpose, well sorta, just manually useing 1-2-D on my auto, hit it at the 1-2 shift for about 3 eeh uuhs (Dont you love doing sounds online?).

You should add the option: Once or twice.

Just an idea.

Hitting the rev limiter without a MEVI or 00VI is stupid in a 4th gen

i've done it couple times before when i wasn't paying attention to my tach meter.. it just cuts off fuel and feels like you're braking really hard.. My lightened flywheel probably has something to do with that since the RPM's climb faster.

Now that i have 00VI + greddy emanage ultimate, i bounce off my 7200RPM set limit once every now and then =P

No need to, 4th gen VQs die at like 6K. When I get that high in the rev range, no matter what gear, it slows down enough that I can make perfect shifts

Happened to me once. First time with the ECU at the track, launched okay but gassed it to much... the tires broke loose and my first gear rpm's skyrocketed. Dam that slippery rock falls! Bounced off 7.5k rpms on the JWT ECU. Good to know that the JWT rev limiter works.... but don't wanna do it again. Keep it at 7k tops.

Well, while we're at it and this thread won't go back to whence it came, I hit it rather frequently. A few times just to see how aggressive it was, a few times to see how accurate the tacho was, a few times to demonstrate a rev limiter to a friend, and a few times just because it's cool. I kind of like the rev limiter.

I've done it when I'm racing along and i'm in D but think i'm in 2nd. I accidentally flicked the gear up and it hits Neutral and bounces off the rev limiter. It's a little embarassing.

6550 is both the redline and fuel cut... what was your "old" redline?

6550 is where the red line begins, hence the name REDLINE
