quick Q for everyone: maxgtr2000 mentioned the key immobiliser system in "98 & '99s, does that really work well or are there ways for good theives to get around it?

Hey jamaxin, I glad that you found your car (with the wheels still on). I know it might not happen but I hope they find the bastards who stole your car. By the way the cattman exhaust is great, no problems at all. Thanks for asking.

jmaxin97, it is a consolation that you found you Max. What is the deductible on your insurance? I don't know if thieves tend to steal the heavily modded and pimped cars more so than just the plain janes. I have 2 GLEs with no mods whatsoever. Also, I don't wax them too much ... they look clean but not gleaming.

yea..wouldn't it be easier to steal a "stock" looking max rather than one that is extremely recognizable (modded)? I mean most of my friends have at least some mods done to their cars that make it easy for me to point them out passing on a road. Usually me seeing them entices me to call them to see what they're doing...if they say sitting on the couch watching reruns of Eight is Enough, then I'll know their car is stolen. I would never notice just an ordinary max driving around, especially cuz there's a billion of them here on Staten Island. I dunno...just my .02

to be honest it looks like these guys will take anything they want...no matter how it looks. I think they took my car to do other jobs because they really didn't get much, just did more damages mre than anything else.

See his car is a 99. It had an imobilser and they still took it. Imobilser-shmobilezer. i hate parking my car on the street when I visit my girlfriend. Whenever I wake up in the morning I go strait to the window to see if she is still there....Its one of my sorst nightmares.
