Anyways, this is what the stock G35/350Z exhaust looks like...

So I think the sound comes from it all being equal length.

My question is: what Y-pipe is this, and where can I buy it???

I was thinking of just getting an equal length Y-pipe custom made; if it were less than $300 I think it would be worth it.

Though I'm sure other factors are important (cams, intake manifold etc.) I think the biggest factor is, by far, the equal length design the whole way back.
I think I was jipped because my stock exhaust doesnt look like that.

IIRC, the stock unit is about as good an attempt at equal length as possible considering the emissions requirements.

OLD thread!!!

But, for the question, yeah, its almost sound like a G35, same loud sound, with bit less decibel.

There is the project. 2003 g35 coupe muffler, no resonator, stock ypipe and cat. Tested with an after-market ypipe and NO, sound like crap, keep the oem.

Did you have to hack up the spare wheel well to get that muffler in?

It looks like I will be getting an equal length Y-pipe fabbed up.

Yep, cut off spare place and weld a plate. Also make the tips about 2" longer.

I had a coupe muffler that I was going to try to put on my car, but then I realized I would have to take out/bang in the spare tire well to make it fit, so I threw it in the trash. I did run a G35 sedan muffler for a while and that sounded pretty good. My set up was an aftermarket y, custom 2.5" B pipe with a 14" magnaflow resinator, and the G35 sedan muffler.

Nice vid, for once someone did a sound clip when the car's running. I hate so much exhaust clip on the neutral.

But, its more beautiful with an manual tranny....

For the maxima, sorry guys, the car is sold, Ive no sound clip.
