ok, I found a male side of a plug on my passenger side above the ecu, I assume this is the correct port to read your codes? I see what the other guy was saying about it being a "D" shape. Mine is that shape as well.

Sorry for the thread ressurection guys, but I ran into this issue tonight. A friend of mine attempted to have the codes pulled on her '95 Maxima at El Autozone but they insisted that since it was a '95 they couldn't do it. And when I went looking for the OBD-II port I almost believed it untill I found this thread that tipped me off to where the port is. Good thing too, because I had already told her I could scan the codes and I didn't want to look like an idiot by backtracking.

The build date on the car is 4/94, which appears to be only eclipsed, in this thread, by Jimes' 3/94.

And afterwards I showed her were the port is so she can make the El Autozone ppl look like morons by showing them she knows more about the car than they do.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread. Looking to buy a scanner in the near future.

Photo of Location: 1995 Maxima OBDII Port

My 1995 Maxima SE was made in April 1995. My OBDII port is on the passenger side (US) and located next to the outside of your left ankle when seated in the front passenger seat (I am attaching a photo of the port area).

To Senior Member max ride 41

I was not trying to help out the original posters. I could not find my OBDII location nor could my State's motor vehicle inspection stations when they inspected my car. I've seen various answers to this question including that there is no OBDII (in a '95 Maxima), there is only OBDI, or there is only a "Consult" port for a special Nissan scanner. When some said there was an OBDII, some said it was under the driver's dashboard, inside the engine bay fuse box, inside the under dash fuse box or under the passenger dashboard. I could not find find any photos of where it was in the forums.

When I google searched to find the location, I found over 50 posts in various forums, but THIS forum and THIS post was at the top of the google search list. I thought I could help others still searching this question by posting a photo of the location in my car. I an not mechanically inclined and I'm guessing most '95 Maxima owners searching for it are not either. I just thought I would help other '95 Maxima owners looking for the location in the future (who google searched and also came up with this forum and this post).

I just bought a 95 so appreciate the picture! Also here in TX cars over 25 years old only get a safety inspection so hopefully won't have to use it.
