you know, im really trying to avoid doing that, i've also been told my cylinder #3 is misfiring, and before i had a cylinder #5 misfiring, SEL did the same as yours, really annoying situation, real frustrating when the car hesitates like that on the acceleration but i've changed 2 coil packs so far = $140, i think i need 1 more to go but these babies are not cheap, it just sucks i bought the car like this, last dude didnt do it so im stuck doing it, still a good car tho regardless, ill stick wit that

Are you putting in new our used coil packs? If used, don't forget to take the bottom end off and clean the contact end where the spring hits. They often get corroded. Put electrolyte lube on the contact to keep it from re-oxidizing.

yea, the car doesn't idle properly and if they're real bad, it'll sometimes feel like it's dying out and the lights might dim and get brighter time to time, but you'll see this happening, its not something you should loook for if you don't notice it normally

I just took out the coilpacks and looked them over hoping to see some obvious signs that would tell me which one was the problem. They all looked great. I wonder if there could be something else causing the problem. (random, momentary roughness when idling) Anybody have any ideas?

i just had to replace the rear bank, all 3 coil packs, they say that when they go, they go in 3's, so i didn't believe and replaced them one by one thinking the guy at auto zone was just trying to get me to buy more but they were right, once i seen one bad one, the other 2 were bad too, i just reset my ECU also and raced around the block real quick, the check engine light went away, the car starts better, idles more quiet and accelerates better so i hope my problems are gone, you should look here for COIL PACK TESTING http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=254238 and follow that procedure to rule out which one is bad, they are what affect the idle of the car
