Bottom line comparing a Maxima to a Mustang is not comparing apples to apples. I think it is still funny when a Mustang pulls up beside my "family car" and I know I can give him a run for his $$ and not be worrying about my car falling apart 3 miles down the road.

Mustangs are good cars, Maximas are a better, overall car.

End of Story.......
Man that was a BOLD statement: "Mustangs are good cars, Maximas are a better, overall car."

Ok guys...

This thread really needs to die off. Let's move on to a new topic already.

What is it with the Mustang guys? Mustangs are a me-too car. You will see more idiot Mustang drivers in 1 day than import drivers in a week. Mustangs are not sports-cars, they are muscle-cars. They are cheap, powerful straight-line cars. Maximas are sport-sedans. They offer a balance of speed, handling, and utility. To compare the two makes no sense. What, because the Camaro goes away this year, Mustangers have to find a new crew to battle?

I have to agree w/ ghost ryder. Newer Mustang Gt's are low 14 second cars. With a couple of simple mods they are running in the 13's. If you really beat one, as you claim you did (BS), then they must not have been trying too hard, or made some serious mistakes. My girlfriend's 96 gt has only a K&N FIPK and two flowmaster mufflers, and the only thing that has beat me in it are the LT1's & LS1's.

yes, the new mustang gt's are low 14 second cars, but not the autos. at a track nearby, ive seen brand new 5spd GTs stay in the 14.7-15.3 range, rarely will it go to low 14's. ive raced the newest GT which was an auto and we stayed neck and neck 3 times, we were no more then 3 feet apart each time up to 80mph. and in my original post, i raced the last generation GT, 4.6l?, with 3 people in his car. i dont see why its so difficult to accept my win, but my story still stands.

I agree. The next upgrade to the max is the BMW. I believe the stang in the absolute "me too car". The only exception is the Saleen. Very, Very fast if it has all the right ingredients. As for the GT's, well, let's just say me too...Wait until the 2002 max, 260hp six speed…

Anyone who can't get under a 15 sec in a 1999+ Gt has no business driving that car. Jeeesus! That is sad.

you call it sad, I call it average for an auto GT (based on what I have seen at the track)

this topic doesn't find its ending yet.
auto stang isn't very fast, but still (ONLY) a LITTLE bit faster than the current max. i guess one more factor is that what kinda tires it comes with.

finally, i knew i said this earlier in this thread... again, i hate ford.

Don't worry I'll bring the MAX not the 55' Now that would truly be unfair..!

But really If you have any Nice Pics of it or Vids e-mail me as my Brother In-law owns njteamford and I made that site for him and am looking for good vids and Pics.

I Could See it NOW...

I have two different kinds of video capture cards (realtime) so I could do it. I live in Piscataway, NJ. BTW, the njteamford site doesn't work.. at least not at this point in time. Server must be down or something.
