what paint to use for painting fog light lens?

I remember reading some of you painted your fog lights yellow. I got the CE fogs last night. Right now they're white and I want yellow fogs. Instead of buying yellow bulbs, I'm thinking of painted the lens yellow. What paint did you guys use?

or maybe I can use the yellow capsule. anybody know if the yellow H3 capsule fits in the CE fog lights?

nismos14 is the man you want to talk to about painting. he painted the outside and also used a clearcoat. you mentioned capsules. even though we have an H3 bulb, I believe the H6 capsule is used because it isn't so tight on the bulb. also, you probably only need to go one or the other. you don't necessarily have to do paint AND capsules. the capsules create very yellow light, and paint can be a nice yellow as well.

or, go to www.lamin-x.com and put some yellow (or blue yeah!) protective film over them. I'm sure if you double the thickness you may get a nice yellow light output. Plus, easier to install and replace/fix than painting. Obviously more expensive, but I personally think painting the lens is hack...

this is for the Custom Maxima projector fogs...not the stock ones. i'd imagine putting a flat piece of film over a round projector lens will be lots of trouble.

i mean if the degree of curvature is severe, then yeah, you get those PITA wrinkles....I'm obviously not familiar with the CE ones, but if the curvature is shallow, no, it shouldn't be a problem, it's vinyl, it stretches. but do as you will, good luck with the project

There is lens paint that you can get...I did mine, followed by a clear coat, and its holding up very well.

There you go bud, the info you need is in this thread

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=454320

This is the paint I used

http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ord-A...int-1-5650.htm

and I bought a can of clear coat from Wal-mart and used that after.

6 -7 coats of the yellow then 3 - 4 of the clear coat.
