Sylvania Xtravisions?

Sylvania Xtravisions?
I just bought these headlight bulbs to replace the bulb that just went out. I plug in one of the headlights and it doesn't work. But i don't know if it is because there was just a little contact with the glass on the bulb and the little hole to put the bulb in. So it didn't work so i tried the other bulb that it came with. Same thing!!
Do these bulbs not work at all if the glass is just barely touched?
Will these bulbs last long if i take them back for some new ones?
Why is it so hard to get to the light bulb for people with big hands?

The reason your old bulb didn't work is because you have a fault in your cars headlight sockets. Check the socket for corrosion or even a melt down.
The Extravisions are by far the best factory replacement bulb out there.

get the silverstars by sylvania theer great bulbs they give the whitest light and their ot blue like all the stupid kids always want use a multimeter and see if you have power at the socket check your grounds to the headlights also touching the bulb wont make it not work when you plug it in. when you touch the glass on the bulb the grease from your fingers heats up on the glass then breaks the glass because the grease boils

This is slightly OT to the poster's issue though

I went from silverstars with relay'ed harnesses to HID's to xtravisions. Of the three; silverstars were great in normal driving weather and in twilight awful in the rain. Same with the HID's, terrible in the rain but great in normal driving weather/twilight. The xtravisions are an all around great light. Output in wet weather was good, as well as all around weather.

Been using nothing but Xtravision bulbs for the past 6 years. They are the best for all season driving.
Check your bulb socket and wires. Sounds like the socket might be burned out or corroded.
Both sides don't work? Or is it just the one side?
