i30 died while breaking

ok so my sister was driving the 96 i30t, and was turning into our street when the moron in front of her slammed on their brakes so they could get into the gas station, well my sister slammed on her brakes and abs kicked in, well than the engine just died, and it wont start again... any ideas?

when i try to restart it, it turns but and sounds like it wants to start, but it just doesnt, could it be the alternator...

ecu codes= p0446 or 0903 EVAP Canister vent control valve umm..

Check your battery voltage. If it's under 10 Volts it might be your alternator. Also, check your dash lights. If your Brake and Battery lights are on it's your alternator.

i think that code has nothing to do with the engine no starting. Check cranking voltage if its near 14v. An easy way is to get one those jumper boxes and leave it on there. If it cranks and starts then you know whats up there. Because if you have a bad alt, once you take off the box car should die. And if the box is fully charged and it still wont start then its none of your battery, starter, alt.

Collision cut-out device has operated. Fuel pump is shut off. Reset it.

its design for when a car thinks its in a accident it shuts off the fuel pump so then you won't blow up and/or leak fuel everywhere.

i had no clue nissan's did them as well. i just thought it was one of ford's failed plan. but there should be a fault saying that the sensor was triggered in the ECU .

Reset ECU? Nvr heard of it. One would think it would go off if the air bags go off. I didn't know we had this feature.

That is strange. Can't you just reset the ECU to trick the car that it wasn't in an accident.

I don't know where it is on the Max but there must be one. As far as I know, it is a Fed mandated requirement on all gasoline-equipped vehicles. I know where it is on my Sentra. Even my UK 1972 Triumph TR6 sports car had one, because it had fuel injection (running at 110 psi pressure!)

I honestly don't think we have any fuel cut switch. I looked in the fsm as well and there is nothing. I would try spraying some starting fluid(ether) into the tb to see if it starts. That will telll you if theres a fuel problem.

Good grief. If there really is no inertia cut-out device on the Max, I am going down to the junkyard and taking one off the first Ford that I find. It's wired in line with the fuel pump fuse normally.
I suggest you check your i30 fuel pump electrical line. Got volts? Or not?
