I agree, I don't care who you are.. If I run 87 and then 93 it's more than night and day as far as difference. Smoother, better mileage and the car is more responsive.

I use premium (93 Oct) around here. BP and Chevron mainly. I don't do it for any real performance benefit...Nissan recommends 91 or better so that's what I use. I do know for a fact though that Premium grade gasoline is formulated with slighty higher quantities of detergent additives than lower grades. I run my truck on 93 oct too...but it actually needs it...

$60 to fill it up too...

hey guys... i just bought a 97 maxima... first of all, absolutely love it! second of all, someone gave the recommendation to alternate...87 because of the price, and then 93 to clean the injectors, etc... that's just what he said... but i don't care... i'm making decent money, and i'll use 93 from here on out.. besides, this is the first car that i've ever seen that said to use at least a 91 octane...

I always use premium. During one of the hurricane scares, the stations around here only had regular. The car definitely felt a little sluggish.

I just bought a 99 SE with 108K miles and I am wondering if running the car on 87 octane will hurt it at any given point. I am a high school student and 93 is not cheap. jw if it is really necessary to put the extra $5 at the pump each time I fill up.

i put in Sunoco's 94 Ultra gas along with an STP Fuel Injector Cleaner once every oil change (every 5000K) to keep the injectors clean, all the way in between that its 87 octane

no knocking, great power, duno what u guys are complaining about use regular and clean the injectors once every oil change. Period.

Yeah, I was told about that before...that is actually a pretty good plan rather than using up extra money putting in the highest octane gas every time at the pump. I'd even say Octane Booster every now and then would be better than just dumping money into worthlessness. Just my opinion though. =|
