Its not untill you start making more boost where you need to start really tuning, you will be needing bigger injectors by then.
Well I have a 2.87" pulley but I'm not going to put it on. the thing about the super fmu is that I'm running rich at the lower rpms. with the super fmu I could lean it out at lower rpms and richen it up at the upper rpms. so I would get good safe power.

With the 2.87 pulley your definately going to need some bigger injectors, and then something to control there flow rate.
What plugs are you running and at what gap?

I'm never going to run the 2.87" pulley I don't think I will need it.
I'm running 1 step colder with a 36 gap

I thought about it but space is tight as you can see. I'll have to see what it is like once the weather heats up again. I may just custom fab a heat shield and seal the filter off from the engine bay. then it can pull cool air from the fender well

Space is tight with any SC on the VQ, but trust me the CAI is worth it. I ran the pancake filter for a while, but once I cut the hole and did the CAI the SC really woke up. It needs some fresh air to really make good boost. I gained about .5-1.0 of boost from doing it. I was really suprised that it made that much of a difference, but it did.

Yup. You have to cut a hole so that the piping can go from the blowers inlet to the inner fender.

From the looks of it, your filter at the blower appears to be too small and you're not giving the blower all the air it can handle. I would see how many cfm that filter is rated at and see if it is up to snuff with the demand of the blower. Better yet, just hold off until you do the CAI. Definately a worthwhile mod.

according to the K+n paper work that filter will flow 820 cfm I'm not sure what the blower needs but it seems like that shoud be enough

That's his name! I rode in his car, it was pretty quick. If I knew turbo was going to be the hassle it is to me to get it going/installed I may have went S/c.
