I just threw a P0136 code. The FSM never shows a code for the P0136 so i wanst sure, i put the consult on it and it showed P0138 and P0139. Odd that a snap on MT2500 tells me differently then a consult 2 would. I know my bank 1 (firewall side) front 02 sensor is going, i was looking at the cross counts compared to the bank 2 and the cross counts on the bank 2 was like 27 and the bank 1 was like 8 or something.

I recently had a p0136 when checked at autozone. Took it to nissan to have it checked out and they said the same thing. Paid for an O2 sensor and had an exhaust shop put it on. Had the code cleared and it never came back (been about a year so far). Hope that helps you.

RE: 0260N9 post

hi 0260N9,
I have the same code - P0136. It was good to read that you had it fixed and haven't seen the problem for a year! A couple of questions -

1. You said you took it to 'nissan' - I am assuming that meant dealership? What was the cost of the O2 sensor from these guys?

2. You mentioned that an exhaust shop installed it for you - what was the cost of that? Just wondering if I should let the mechanic take care of this (he said it might $200+ bucks) or if I should go down your route (get the O2 sensor myself and then have someone else install it etc. Or even install it myself?)

3. Just curious but would you suggest I take this to someone to install it? Or do you think I can handle it? I am not a car enthusiast and don't have too many tools but I can manage doing simple things like fixing power windows, radio etc.

Thanks in advance for your input.

-deep

From the nissan dealer, the o2 sensor cost $150.00. I paid a shop around $35.00 to put it on. I heard later on that the autozone sensors are the same ones(dont know if it is true). The shop had a hard time getting the sensor out. If you are a decent mechanic you should do it yourself. I am to lazy to do things not audio related.

Got it 0260N9. Thanks for info! I think I'll brave it myself after all.
