'99 low mileage... 150k

3 clutches (female driver ) I still love her though!!
2 starters (female driver ) Always going somewhere! probably started 13,000 times! (at least 4 times a day for 9 years)
Alternator
6 coils!
A/C compressor
1 set front brake pads
1 battery

Just hit 140,000 miles

- tires as usual
-replace tranny
-all o2 sensor and knock
-oil leakage
-shocks pretty soon
-window regulator
-sunroof
-a seat motor
- air bag light on, don't know why.

I just hit 158k, replaced the tranny, starter, v/c gaskets, struts, steering rack, battery..thats it I think.

120K here.But mine was wrecked and sat for almost a year before i bought it so I may have a bit more than the most..and i wanted to get my Maxima as close to new as possible.

- oil sending unit - was leaking
- new fenders, hood, rad support, front bumper
- replaced t stat
- replaced all four rotors, caliper and pads
- replaced both belts
- new radiator and cap
- new fans
- replaced spark plugs
- replaced both ball joints,
inner/outer tie rods & sway bar links
- new tires
- replaced battery
- test pipe for whatever cat that is..
- soon to have cattman downpipe for broken flex.

Go to autozone and get one for 150. It has a lifetime warranty. I've gotten 2 free replacements so far.

How about the lowest 4th gen mileage? I just picked up a 96 5 speed SE two months ago and it now has 61,750!

I'm not trying to brag.. I sold my 01 Altima GXE that I put 118,000 on in 7 years. I had a 92 Maxima 5 speed SE in high school until a drunk driver turned infront of me while I was doing 45mph... I never saw him or touched the brakes. I t-boned his 86 GMC Sierra almost killing the passenger. My brother and I walked away from the accident, the MAX saved my life--those crumple zones work! That airbag sat in the steering wheel for 10 years and deployed at the instant is was supposed to. My only complaint(besides losing my precious MAX) was that EXACT day I'd just had the front CV joints replaced by Nissan and the insurance company called it rountine maintenance and wouldn't reimburse us the $600!

how did you fix your sunroof what ever I do it keeps leaking what am I missing?

Knock sensor
Post-cat O2 sensor


Passed inspection with flying colors (after I cleared the EGR tube, of course).

Hood and Left Headlight

soon to be needing a replacement are the shocks, audio system (busted speakers and radio unit, which only plays at one volume, LOUD!) and of course the fuel filter (I honestly don't know when the last time it was done)

'98 Maxima SE w/ 175K miles, bought it new:

-alternator
-all 3 O2 sensors
-Knock sensor
-front oem struts
-front sway bar links
-front tie rods
-front sway bar bushings
-3 coil packs
-3 sets of sparks plugs
-front calipers, rotors, pads, brake lines
-rear calipers, rotors, pads, brake lines
-catback aftermarket exhaust (oem rusted away like ice)

darn expensive to repair. i swear nissan parts are more expensive than toyota, hondas, and even some luxury brands. this is my last nissan!

recently installed an Injen Cold air intake,
did a full tune-up on her, replace all brakes and rotors,
new front struts, wheel bearings, tie rods, and axel
This car is a beast!

Why is this thread still alive? Furthermore, why are most of the replies by people with 130k? These cars are a minimum of 10 years old, 10,500 miles per year is hardly "high mileage".

262,000 97 GLE: tranny at 110,000, 4 alternators (because the f***ing mechanics are retarded 9 out 10 times), o2, rad fan and head gaskets at 255,000, thermostat assy at 262,000, lower rad support is now rotted to hell and hanging loose in the NYC potholes,

just got an A32 95 auto maxima unknown what model it is (how can i find out) red with black heated leather, power driver seat, floor mat stains, no car jack, wooded panels, sunroof, bose system with 1 dead speaker and 3 popped one tweekers also, no fog lights and no holes for fog lights, honeycomb rims, black gauge with blue led lights, transmission drives through all gears on L and 2. got it for $850

216,154mi

problems
steering wheel or colum makes clicking noise when turning
front brake pads are gone ate a line on the rotor
4th coil comes apart (when tune up was done)
P0150 O2 sensor (bank 2, sensor 1)
P0325 Knock sensor 1 (bank 1)
P0110 intake air temp
P0705 Trans range sensor (PRNDL input)
hood stuts are shoot (wont stay up for a long time)
Done
Tune up
removed most stickers from windshield
Smog check bought (wouldnt pass)
blue led lights in gauge


Second nissan owned first was 95 se kouki with 156846 engine gave in sold for 2200 got for 3000.

Well, can't say for certain as one of the few things that have broke was the odometer. At 100K... 11-12 years ago.

96 MaxGXE, best estimate is a little north of 300K miles. She's been a reliable daily driver, first for my wife when she bought it used in Dec06, then for me when my 99SE got totaled and she got the new car in Jan04.

Easily 50Miles/day commuter + always driving on weekends, used to be much more in years past so I easily clock 20K/year average.

Starter @ ~175K
Water Pump @ ~270K
Alternator @ ~300K+ - died a few months ago . Left for work, smelled something funny. Opened hood - alternators on fire. Blow out fire. Drive 1 block back home. Blow out new fire. Spend day replacing alternator . (I've had a new spare alty in the garage for 8 years that the wife got back when she worked at Bosch - just in case hers died so that was a free fix)

Other than that, O2 sensors, knock sensors. She's been a tank for almost 15 years for us. However, she will not make it thru this winter. Needs a new suspension and exhaust system. Can't justify the cost. It will be a 7th Gen Max for me this winter . When that day comes, watching this old girl get taken away will make me feel like Kirk watching the Enterprise burn up in the atmosphere is STIII .

i got 189k on mine with some minor problems and one major one the minors are the maf suspension (origanal) and tranny starting to slip a little the only major problem is getting hated on by everyone ie; why a maxima there slow and nissan sucks. I love my car anybody else get hated on

99 se 5spd/ 134k miles

Alternator the week i bought the car at 70k
3 coil packs
fr rotors, pads, slides
rear brake lines, rotors, slides, calipers
fr sway bar end links
ball joints
all 3 o2 sensors
knock sensor
pcv valve
full exhaust system was rusty. I replaced it with a warpspeed y pipe high flow magnaflow cat and a pace setter cat back

Need to replace
gear oil, both axles
tie rod ends
knock sensor again
serp. belt
fuel filter
