If I ever re-do my fog lights, they won't be 3000k bulbs. The Lexus yellow capsules are pretty much a necessity for "true" yellow color. 3000k bulbs are too light of a yellow and do have a green in them, I've noticed. So personally I'd do the yellow capsule mod if I were you Fairly cheap, and not too hard to do.

Tatanko...OT but I'm still flippin surprised you don't have rims/drop. Your car would look beautiful if you did. Those wheels are killing the sick projectors you have.

I didn't know that 12000k HID will give less visibility, I will probably go for 6000k or 8000k but why do Mercedes have purple headlight?

They don't. They use 4300K as all other factory equipped HID vehicles. What you see is the color band caused by the projectors at certain angles. 12,000K sucks! straight up. The color of your headlight will resemble this smiley ----> 8000K will be really bluish. Good luck driving with anything over 6000K at night in the rain on a dark road!

I have priorities and no money It might get dropped this summer, but I doubt I'll ever change rims unless I need to in order to clear brakes or get more width or something. I'm not a huge fan of the sawblades, but I value ride comfort and good straight line traction, so I'm sticking with 15". I could have dropped it by now with just springs, but if I'm going to drop it I want to do it right and not sacrifice ride quality and handling by staying on the stock struts.

Like queenambeach already said, what you're seeing is not 12000k bulbs. Some projectors at certain angles appear purple (moreso halogen projectors, it seems, than HID ones) at the cutoff a little. Saab projectors I've noticed this with the most.

Lately, though, I've been picking up one what looks like aging with some factory HID setups. Over time, HID bulbs (capsules is the proper term) will actually shift in color. They will become slightly more blue (and continue down the color spectrum) as they get older and have been used more. For that reason, brand new 4300k bulbs almost look like halogen lights. Some setups seem to be aging faster and not as well as others, though. For example, ~2000-ish Acura TL's and CL's with reflector-based HID setups are nearing pink or purple in color now on some cars. A lot of them are ending up with bulbs that are aging at different rates, too, and bulbs that seem to be getting screwed up by water leaking in or something. The other day I saw a TL with one pinkish/purple headlight and the other one was almost a deep 3000k yellow color.
