hahahahahahhahahhaha amazing thread wow. made me laugh. but really i found it because i tore one off today on a snow bank at corner of someones drive way, it basically just got pushed into the tire while backing up, so i unscrewed it.. , I'll have a look tomorrow when it's light out so I can see if I can simply screw it back on. hopefully can but it looks like another piece got torn off but I have it, was dark out though couldn't tell if it was serious or not, besides, the car gets significantly dirty no matter what up here so really.. hmm. I'll take both back ones off and kind of compare from a far.

Has anyone here taken their off for simple reasons of aesthetics? heh. Have a picture?

about your flaps...they arent gonna hurt handling, they just keep your car a little cleaner. I wouldnt waste my time testing the car in the rain.
Exactly. The SE's only had White gauges but... how do you know if his car is an SE? I don't remember really any SE's that had Mudflaps. Because Mudflaps are not very sporty. I know GXEs had them and some GLEs.

There are other areas to check tho, if your car is an SE.

The pro are your car doesnt get as dirty with the mudguards, the con is that sometimes scrap on a hill. Pro on the rainguards is of course having the rain not come in through the window, and for me the con is they interupt the crome strip around my windows.

Your thread title doesn't seem to match the actual question you ask in the thread.

Why do you need to have white gauges to know what your odometer reads??? My '96 GLE has black gauges and tells the odo mileage just fine.

Anyway, mud flaps are for trucks. Ditch them.

He was saying that because his his an SE, and doesn't have the white SE gauges, it has GLE/GXE black gauges, he thinks the cluster was swapped at some point and is no longer accurate.
