Flash lights or beep on unlock?
Flash lights or beep on unlock?
Ok, Ive searched and looked through the stickies. Ive found out how to make the car beep when I lock it, but thats not what I am looking for. Is there any way to make my car beep and/or flash the signals when I unlock the car via the fob? Ive looked through the FSM and I cant find anything about a wire that gets 12V or GND when the car is unlocked via the fob. Anyone?

I haven't actually done this but i'd imagine if you ran a parallel relay from the relay that flashes your lights (it's in the trunk) to your horns you could achieve this (it would beep twice too). Right now I'm trying to put in a switch activated relay that would switch back and fourth between the remote window opener and a remote start. If I actually get it done I will post a guide.
Best way, really, is doing it how the writeup around here says.

Just trying to keep the tread along the right path, the OP realizes the mod to make it beep when you lock obiously.
To the OP, my FSM doesn't show me ground points, the last few pages messed up. But if you look in the EL section, on page 265:
"When the key (fab) is used to unlock a door, LCU01/02 terminal (5) receives a ground signal.
From terminal (2) of the door key cylinder switch"
So if you can locate that terminal on the drivers door you should be able to make it work. Seems involved, but if you're serious that is the only way I can see to do it without looking any more in depth.
Hope that helps
