i actually have a k&n filter in the stock box, had it for 4 years and no problems. i really want to try the cai, but want the right set up so i dont f up maxy's performance. im still trying to see if its worth doing as i just replaced my old resonator with a jy one cause the hose was cracked underneath. she's running good, but low end is def a little laggy at times.

new K&N has a better air flow than new paper filter but recharged K&N including drop-in is worse than new paper filter. how much dirt can anyone remove from a dirty K&N filter? recharging it with too much oil can damage the mas sensor. there was a very convincing info.

Sure, but actually, it's been dyno-proven AFAIK that our cars perform better with SRIs mounted right next to the edge of the engine bay.
The tubing on most CAIs on the market for the 4th and 5th gens is so long, that you may actually lose some power up top. I noticed in switching from my CAI to my SRI that the car wanted to pull harder in the mid-to-high powerband. And that was in my automatic.

That's why you buy an AEM Dryflow or an Apex'i...whatever they're called.
