No need to apologize. I know it is not the best y pipe out there but for the most part, I'm happy with it as it sits right now. Somewhere down the line I plan on learning to weld and then fabbing a smoother equal length y pipe. But that is many many months away..

But as far as losing power goes, won't know till I take it to the track.

You ever thought about building it using a manufactured merger like the following:
1. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=9539
2.http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/sh...ndex&cPath=228
3. http://www.mandrelbendingsolutions.c...pes/Categories
IMO it would be a better merge in an efficient/power point of view.... As for coming off the header collectors I would have the existing collector, welded a 45* or 90* bends then added a 3-bolt flange facing rwd making it easy and cleaner....to merge them into the ypipe merge...there seems to be plenty of room so they don't have to be siamesed or that close to each other...

ok, Is there a myth or a truth about the 3" exhaust being better than the 2.25/2.50 exhaust on a N/A car 3.0L . I am truly in for a whole H/E upgrade, I want to know If the 3" exhaust will be still a good on the low end as it would be good for high end with boost/mods/N/A. I want to get the best for the N/A motor and I am hoping that the 3" will do the trick. I am trying to figure this out here but the thread and the peoples different opinon making it a hard disicion thanks.

It goes like this.

It's all myth. There are NO conclusive dynos or FACTS to say 3" > 2.5" > Stock.

With that said, see the dyno # in my sig? That was done w/ a 3" catback, do your own maxima dyno research and find any VQ30 dyno with more tq before 3k with just bolt ons untuned.

One more thing, when reading/listening to these post, take in account to who actually owns a 3" and who doesn't. It will go like this... People who do not have a 3" says that you will lose low end, people who OWN a 3" catback will say that you gain low end, now who's opinion will you take on a 3" catback?

Yes, we were planning on using a premade merge like one of those, but the muffler dealer we went to said they didn't carry any in the size I needed, 2.25" into 3", and waiting for one in the mail at that point wasn't an option.

It never did that before with the 2.5" Cattman and definitely not with the 2" OEM (Choker)!!!!
Lol nice. I can only imagine

The piping looks good man. and u cant beat that price. SS all the way back will hold up. My muffler is 304SS. I had it for 1.5 yrs. Its a lil discolored but holding up well for the amount i paid for it, $20 new.

thanks, aackshun I am hoping that I can buy 3" exhaust all the way and I am positive that this ehxaust will hopefully have power thru out the whole RPM bands. I hope this will be a benifit for the USIMS. I am assuming that I will have power in the low end with this set from head to toe.

Opinions please. If you had a boosted & built 3.5 swap on meth pushing 450+ whp. Do you think a 3.5" custom mandrell bent catback would be more beneficial than the 3" custom madrell bent catback. I have a local shop that says they can fit it on my 4 th gen.

Stock. 2"
Performance. 2.5"
High performance 3"
Super high performance 3.5". ????????????????????????

IMO, 3" should be enough cuz idk much about meth but idt it adds any kind of pressure like turbos. and a 3.0 or 3.5 dont mater, if its boosted your gunna need 2.5 or higher. My opinion, 3" is good.
