HID Retro Issue

I have had my HID Retro for a good amount of time without a problem. They are FX35 Projectors; Ballasts and ignitors in a stock housing. For some reason, when it rains, I am losing one headlight. After they dry out, they both start working again. It seems to switch from one to the other.

Anyone have a similiar issue with a fix ?
Im thinking taking out the Ballasts and sealing them up

if you're using matsu****a gen. 3 ballasts from nissan/infinity, if wet, they won't turn on but when they dried up, they work again. philips, densos, and osrams....if they get wet, they're dead for good.

I have those ballasts in my Maxima for a while now. What I did was electrical tape it to death, and overlapped each layer downwards (Like the shingles on your roof) so that water could not go in unless the top piece of tape was leaking. I left a small hole near the bottom of the ballast so that any water that did get in, could easily drain out instead of collecting.

Yeah most people do that as well to make sure they're sealed off from water/moisture.

Where are they mounted BTW?

Driver side is mounted under the fuse box, the little area between the fender, the battery, and under the fuse box.

As for the passenger side, I think I have mine either under the coolant reservoir, or slightly in front of it. It has been some time since I have installed the system, so I would have to go check.
