No! Neither! This is a MES (Mandrel Exhaust System) list were working on! I and the Org helped creted a 3rd Gen catback and we'll help them create a 4th Gen line as well! You in? I would suggest you read thru most of the reply so far so you have a better idea about wghat we're doing! We do need 10 people, I'll say combined to get MES to start prototyping a 2.5"/3" catback for our cars....2.5" aluminized steel tubing kit $125/ 3" aluminized steel est'd $195....come on and join us! I'm rockin a crush bent 2.5" with a 2.5" x 22" long Cattman resonator and a noisy a$$ 13" Flowmaster 40 that's kinda on the noisy side of my personal sound spectrum! Ckeck it out and let us know yes or no....Thx

What size are you interested in anyway? The 2.5" tubing is $125....3rd Gen is $195 for it's 3" so I can say that'll more than likely be the same price for the 4th since the layout and cars are relatively the same size! So either jump on the wagon or get left behind...Im not babysitting on this group buy....Either you're interested or you're not.....it's a freaking low a$$ price and either you want it or you don't!

the stock exhaust is well designed for people taking their children to soccer games and picnics...there is nothing cool about restrictive exhaust components for automotive enthusiasts.

@CMax03 put me on the list for this MES tubing kit. I'm fine with aluminized steel for now since I'm looking to run a 2.5 inch straight pipe set up anyway, but I'll want a 3 inch once I get into my boost build...hopefully this takes off and they'll have a stainless set up available by then.

The only restrictive part of the stock exhaust is the pre-cats and the cat really, its pretty well designed with no sharp bends that I recall on the b-pipe. Once you get up to about 250hp then you can increase the size because you NEED to as opposed to wanting to or for sound purposes. With a Y-pipe and high flow cat the stock system isn't bad unless you plan on going high HP.

I never once said it was too expensive, just wanted to know a set price on the kit before I commit. Are our options only aluminized steel at the moment or will stainless steel be an option? Also, what are we looking at time frame wise? Going to put my 2.5" set up for sale since Ill be going to a 3" with this group buy.

The price for the 2.5" aluminized steel is set.....The first production catbacks will be aluminized steel 2.5" tubing kit, then the SS and 3" will be available....I've already setup a list that's gonna be with MES and Josh from Mes is whom I worked with before getting a catback made for the 3rd gen community....in which I bought two (2) of....Again I'm pretty sure that the prices will be identical to the 3rd gen since the routing and length are almost identical...Josh emailed my and I posted it on this thread pg 2, reply 45.....

Here's what MES said regarding this 3" Exhaust:

Good to hear from you. Do you have a 95-99 model yourself?

Yes, we would be interested in helping.

We would need to get 10 people ready to buy... We would only make this as a "tubing kit" to start and based off interest/sales would we then possibly consider building a bolt on system.

We would need some guys interested in 2.5 inch Aluminized to make the first few test fits. Then we can produce the system in 3 inch. Yes, we can eventually build the system in Stainless also, but we would need to get several systems out there in Aluminized Steel first to gauge fitment.

Keep me updated on the thread and we'll try to make this happen for you guys.

We're moving right along faster than I originally thought with part I, part II will be the defining moment once the payments are required to MES....other than that I really appreciate the participation from you 4th Gen orgers...the way it's moving we should have 10 ppl well within 3 weeks.....from the origin!
