Remote killing my starter?

Is there any possibility that after 2 years of use something happened to my remote car starter that makes it ruin starters. My brother had the car before me and he seems to think that starting the car with the remote fryed the starter. We both only used in when it was needed, basically when it snowed. Thanks all

I used mine quite frequently one year and went through 5 starters it seems like they can't handle the load from the remote for some reason. but once i stopped using it never went through another.

I have only heard some grind with remote starts and then you would have to change the starter cut off setting within the unit, but I have never heard of regular remote start current ruining a starter.

I had my Hornet Alarm kill my starter not once, but 3 times. I had to remove it just so I could start it. So, I would say that it's a possibility that it can.

It's not a remote starter, but it is similar to what you're going through. I hope this input helps!
