HELP! 99 Maxima SE Limited bad idle & extreme loss of power
99 Maxima SE Limited with 197,000 miles has extremely bad idle when stopped and in gear, but seems to be okay in park and neutral with very little to no idle issues. Has extremely bad hesitations, lag and bogging down when accelerating, especially hard accelerating, and it like jerks or stumbles where I feel the engine like bog out and excessively struggle to accelerate from 1000-3000 rpms, but smooths out after that. Had P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire for a coil broken in 2, P0327 Cylinder 1 Knock Sensor code which were fixed, it also had P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire which doesn't show up now and I didn't have a chance to do anything to it, but now has P1320 Ignition Signal Primary code. Every so often it runs rich and I can smell it. I cleaned the MAF sensor and used Lucas Fuel Treatment but nothing really helps. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you

This is a 99 se-l there notorious for coils going bad hanshins coils are the failing coils, change them all the multiple misfire code p300 is realated to this, the plugs and coils need to be changed with the failing maf if that's not letting you rev past 2500 rpms. I would first do the plugs and coil and the fuel filter at that mileage 197k theres lots of debris there. The best thing you can do is run a new code check when this is all token care of even the knock sensor your car will feel like an 18 wheeler trying to take off in high speeds if you don't fix this knock sensor and all the other issues. Don't forget to do the iacv,tb cleaning as well the egr.

I replaced the cylinder 3 coil, I need to replace them all? What brand do I get? I cleaned the MAF and it seemed to give a little more HP, is it failing because no MAF codes come up? I was told to use NGK plugs? I already replaced the knock sensor I fixed that when it first came up. How do I clean the iacv, tb and egr?
^^ Good information posted above.
Be sure to check your plugs for a blackened or wet plug that smells of unburned fuel. We're seeing some number of 99 models with leaking fuel injectors.

Usually you can move a failing coil between cylinders to verify the coil is truly failing. Basically if you suspect the coil is failing on cyl #3 then move it to cyl #1 or #5. If the misfire follows the coil, then you have found the issue.
I pick up used coils from a junk yard and keep them on hand for when one fails.
I know people who use Hitachi coils they purchased on www.rockauto.com with success.

Cool I'll try that tomorrow, and will this throw the ignition code too? Which Hitachi coil, the back? How do I know which one to order there's a few of them. I was already going to check the wire harness to see if it's broke or needs to be replaced. I have done so much research and spent so much time talking to parts stores and mechanics trying to fix it, it's starting to **** me off because I have never had this much trouble before

Ok, I already told you and I will again, don't get frustrated, pull the codes see what you got cooking. Than go from there I honestly think the p1225 or what every code is, the ignition coils are faling are have failed. Just buy them and replace all six. The firing order is front cylinder 246 and the back cylinder is 135. I would honestly tackle it all, like I have mentioned. The harness shouldn't go bad unless the car has been abused like you drove in the snow and were stuck and your there pushing it all out or the after mods electronically been done.

It had fender and hood damage from the previous owner hitting a snowbank and going in a ditch. It seems to run great when I first take off with it before it heats up from being driven and it has great acceleration, until it warms up and starts bad idle and hesitating. I ordered the 3 back coils because the front are brand new, and I ordered the NGK plugs
