Strut options?
Strut options?
The shocks on our 99 SE are leaking and certainly pretty shot at 185k miles. Local shop wanted $1200 to replace them LOLNO. It looks like with a assembled strut replacing them is pretty simple, no spring compressors or anything crazy needed, just the impact gun and maybe a breaker bar.
I'm looking at the Monroe Quick Struts for this, looks like about $320 for all 4 with fully assembled spring/struts. From what I've found the quick strut line seems to be decent enough, at least compared to the economy stuff.
Are there any better options out there?

My experiences with Monroe and Moog strut assemblies were NOT positive or using KYB struts and parts.
What has worked for me is using Koni (orange) STR-T struts using the original springs, Nissan OEM Strut Mounts and only OEM consumable parts (Bearings and Bushings). Konis have a lifetime warranty and all the OEM parts lasted a loong time. Nothing else will even come close. Not cheap, even if you do it yourself.
Something QUITE important with our 4th Gens is Spring Insulators. DON'T SKIMP.
Buy a spring compressor and do it yourself and RIGHT!
