Soft brake pedal after rear caliper change
Soft brake pedal after rear caliper change
Hi, this was my first time changing a caliper. I followed this video:
After waiting for the air to drip out of the bleeder valve for 20 minutes, I followed up with getting 2nd person to do a few pumps until I saw no more air coming out of the bleeder valve. I made sure to refill the brake fluid reservoir so it never even got down to half full.
After test driving a half mile, on the way back the pedal got soft. Pumping the pedal doesn't help it.
What should I do? Does this mean there is still some air inside the caliper that I need to bleed out?

Thank you guys.
Today I tried just bleeding that same rear right brake, but no luck, pedal still soft when I turn on engine. So I will do that one over again, as well as the other 3 wheels.
Is it OK to do 2 wheels one day (rear right + left front), and the other two wheels the next day? I won't start the car, just physically difficult to do all 4 in one day.
And how many times should I open and close the bleeder valve? Would 10 reps be good enough?

@Rit @Turbobink Thank you again guys, I think the job was a success. First time bleeding the brakes for me, I followed that FSM guide. Did all 4 wheels, brakes work fine like they used to so far.
