Just Installed New Injen Cai

I have heard about the injen CAI and its unique filter location, but don't you have to gut the TB in order to install it? I thought I saw somewhere where you had to take apart the TB in the process of installing this (or it could be another type of?) intake?

You guys might want to take a look at that. 12hp to the wheels is not bad, but keep in mind Injen did this dyno. This is a "CAI" and has long piping, but the high end did not seem to have suffered. There were gains throughout the powerband. I will trust the numbers more if someone dynoed it themselves. It would also be interesting to see a dyno for a 4th gen with a frankencar and campare it with the injen.

Well, I can't complain about mine and I don't have a y pipe or exhust. I can't wait to get a y pipe installed, and balance out the distribution of power...
Oh yeah! you don't have to do anything to the TB. You just have to move the MAF sensor like TOOLrocks said.

The Injen dynos look legit, but they must be testing some sick Maximas. A 5 speed 4th gen with a catback and intake should be making a lot more 165fwhp and 170fwtq. That 2k2 6 speed is super weak. They only got 196fwhp and 200fwtq stock. That's pretty weak.

No, off the line the car is pulling hard all the way through the RPM's. Dave B is right the peak is around 5400rpm. So, yes I did gain in the low end, and that's why I need a y pipe so that the high end will perform better. Hope this helps. Are you thinking about getting a Injen intake?

Joey: Yes, I'm thinking about getting an intake, and am currently thinking about the injen...but with all the discussion going on right now...i'm not too sure
People in the 5th gen forum have been saying that the injen is restrictive at 120+mph, but that does not concern me. I think i will most likely go with the injen because i'm not interested in going 120, 0-60 dashes are more important to me than the 1/4 mile, I dont want to drill a hole and it doesn't snow in the Bay Area

So I take it that your in the bay area? Well, if you want to I will be glad to meet up with you and you can see the setup and drive the car if you want. Email me from my website...link is below.
OHH BTW I just wrote up this long a$$ write up about Injen vs PR intake on another thread.

Injen's baseline run isn't really a "true" baseline run for the intake alone, as the "after" run was with BOTH the Injen intake AND an EXHAUST modification. So, for those keeping score at home, that's not a straight 12 bhp from the intake alone. A few of those ponies are coming from the changes to the backside of the works.
Just the same, I'm not discouraged. I like this intake. I would buy this intake.
