I dont know much about nitrous,so please help.I have a 97 SE auto.I am going to mod it after this winter.I want to know what all is needed to run nitrous.I want a reliable system.I am not necessarily looking for the cheapest. What all mods to i need to do to keep it running strong.I want to upgrade the tranny, would dons mod be enough,or do i need more? Also,is there anything else i need to do?Thanks for your help. Also, has anybody seen or used the nitrous kit made by venom,i think it is done with a computer or something, anyway, thanks for any info.

not to be annoying...but

if you do a search on
nitro* <--type in nitro*
you probably get the info you need
I've seen a comprehensive thread on the subject
Good luck....
PS: any excessively high energy increased to the engine
will deteriorate it quicker than normal wear and tear....
Unless..you changed or treat your internals somehow...that is my short answer....good luck on your quest...

Nitrous is not for everybody. Yes, it's cheaper than Supercharger, but it takes more maintence than SC. If you don't know much about cars or not good with your hands. I would stay away from nitrous. There are different types of nitrous system. First you need to decide which one you want. If you stay with small shots, you don't really need to upgrade anything else. Even if you decide on a kit, there are tons of accessories to make the nitrous more reliable. ie. Bottle heater, purge kit....

Start by going here and read up.

I have been thinking about that same thing, since nitrous lays all the power at once, u have a chance of putting stress cracks in ur block b/c it is not progressive as say a Supercharger, but what if u used the progressive rate kit that NOS has, where u define how much nitrous and fuel is put in at what rpm? should that spread out the pressure? jus was wondering cuz yes i have been considering nitrous but i first i gotta do some tranny upgrades to my auto

Progressive controller is a very good idea, but it's going to be expensive. You are looking at >$300 just for the controller. If you want all the bells and whistles with a nitrous system, it going to come pretty close to a SC price.
