Dodge Neon SRT-4
Has anyone seen this?
The 2003 Dodge SRT-4 [Street and Racing Techology, as opposed to the R/T Road and Track] goes from 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, straight out of the factory, making it the second fastest current-production Chrysler vehicle. Even with that mind-blowing acceleration - matched in recent Dodge history only by the Viper, Spirit R/T, and Daytona R/T - the Dodge Neon SRT-4 is under $20,000, making it cheaper than a base model Stratus.
Top speed is 148 mph. The 2.4 liter engine (also used in the PT Cruiser, without a turbo, and in the future GT Cruiser, with a turbo) produces 205 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque.
"One of the great things about the SRT-4 turbo is that enthusiasts will be able to get extra power out of it later through packages available from our Mopar Performance Parts group," said John Fernandez, Director - Performance Vehicle Operations.
Will Neon owners now try to race us? I think the neon is lighter, and they're already talking about producing aftermarket parts... I already get that a lot. Dodge Neon owners that is, trying to race me on the highway. They always loose off course, but "the nerve!!", I think to myself. And now I see this article. Will I have to be careful of what Neon I'm racing, or will I have to get Turbo to keep up with these Freaks???
